If flowers teach us beauty,
Sunrise life,
Water thirst,
Noise silence,
And rain sorrow,
If clouds teach us hope,
Airplanes earth,
Stars insignificance,
Darkness fear,
And candles light,
If paper teaches us words
Lipstick kisses
Moonlight sleep
And pillows dreams,
Then you, woman,
You teach that all these lessons matter.
You teach love.
Nice. Thank you for sharing…I love hats…Kristin Ringewald
I tip my hat to you. 🙂
Beautiful poem!
Not quite a poem but an almost-poem maybe!
Is that woman, mother? For mothers teach us all these things .
Leslie
My mother is a shrew so I wouldn’t know. 🙂
My mother was a saint and she taught me all those things.

What I love about this poem is the the lesson, that you’ve mentioned, that things around us teach – they’re really well thought out.
Your writing conveys a sense of effortlessness and that is a feat.
How are you, Vincentiu?
So, you have painted your nails!
I am thin and thinning a little more every day but otherwise I am reasonably well. Will visit a doctor again next week.
How are you?
Good to know that you’re doing well.
As for me, I have a lot of free time on my hands these days so I’m catching up on my reading and drawing (and painting my nails :D).
Hope everything goes well.
Feel better, Vincentiu.
Being aware of all these teachable moments is where life begins.
This is lovely and wise words of wisdom, my dear. I am sending you a plethora of positive energy. Big hugs, Cher xo
wonderful poetry!
I would call it almost poetry. 🙂
Just beautiful, Vincentiu.
I blush as always!
This is, quite simply, very special indeed!

My thoughts? They don’t really count in the face of poetry like this, from Boy with a Hat. There are some poems the whole world should read.
I hope you don’t mind – I’ve reblogged it on Frederick Anderson.
Of course not, Frederick.
When I read your poems, I try to look for something that could be improved upon to help you become a better writer… only I can never find a flaw! You are such a naturally talented writer, but you probably already knew that! 🙂 Keep up the good work!
P.S. How is that book you were writing going?
I dare say I have finished it, but I’m still working on it, trying to improve it. 🙂 How is college, Daniel?
I’m waiting for the letter that confirms/denies my acceptance into the next college course (Crawford College of Art and Design), but I have to wait for the Leaving Certs students to get their results which means by the time I know, I only have one to two weeks maximum to find accommodation!
If I do get a place in Crawford I’ll be very happy! 🙂
That is amazing.
And you, hatted one, teach purity.
And raw talent.
And things I cannot put into words.
I’ve missed . . . this.
What have you been up to, charitable American?
I broke my collarbone. 😦
Ouch! That must have hurt! Dear American, you have a penchant for accidents.
It wasn’t my fault. It still hurts. Surgery tomorrow…
Cheer up! I’ve heard somewhere that once it heals, a broken bone becomes tougher than before.
Is the same true for our spirits as we get older? I hope not, for you. Your gentle soul resonates with mine.
