Google is too fast
Email too slow
Facebook too crowded
Twitter too short
YouTube too much fun
Google+ too much Google
LinkedIn too professional
Flickr too photographic
Instagram too much photo food
Blogging too cool,
In other words,
Social media is a bit too social.
Yet to quit it all requires
A bit more courage than I have right now.
I will try instead to be
A little less connected,
And a bit more focused.
Yes.
It’s a struggle!
I see you’re quite active on many networks Susie. 😉
I am. 🙂 I put most of my time into Twitter. I need to get into Instagram, but often forget about it!
Nicely put!
I read a post where my understanding of an Artist needs a good balance of focus and connection for ongoing support of the Artist’s creation. I am not striving to be an artist but I certainly appreciate the works. Art has suffered like everything else the last 100 years to me and needs integrity returned to it too. Good Luck.
Good point. It’s undeniable that social media helps artists tremendously.

What? Given up on Facebook already…?? 🙂 None could be more disconnected than I at present. But focus is good (as long as one does not go cross-eyed).
Facebook got me into trouble already. Don’t ask. Hope the gloom is fading. 🙂
thanks to wordpress i knew about your blog.
Thanks to WordPress I have this blog. 🙂
Agree, agree.
I have successfully deleted my social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter. And now I’m left with my blogs and my email account only.
It is peaceful. My reasons to leave them behind was time (of course), and the superficiality of the virtual world… It got a bit overwhelming. And might I say, I feel so much better now.
Good luck to you!

THIS. This is the exact reason why even sensible teenagers often fall to peer pressure. *sigh*

The Struggle…
Is true
No time to write, huh? I am the same. I’m gradually easing down on the load, because I have places to go, books to write.
Oh, I do have time to write, Frederick. The first thing I do in the morning is write. That way I can be sure that I whatever happens during the day I have not lived in vain. But sometimes, although the urge to write is great, one has nothing worthwhile to say…
Hope you find your porridge.

So true, more social more problems most of the time
I’ve had the exact same thoughts about blogging recently. Unfortunately, it is very hard to get back into post writing… I haven’t added anything since January! Being free from updating your blog for a while can be a surprisingly good feeling. 🙂 I will be posting soon though.
Hope you’re well, Daniel. Fun as it is, blogging can feel like an obligation, especially since it can eat up more time than other social networks. I was wondering, do you have FB?
Thanks! Hope you’re doing fine too! 🙂 I don’t have a Facebook account. I only have WordPress and recently Deviantart.
I’ve heard you have a girlfriend, too. 😉
I do! 🙂 Her name’s Eve and she’s everything I could possibly want in a woman and more! She’s wonderful! 🙂
How about you? Is there anyone special in your life at the moment?
Cheers to you! (Invite me to the wedding!)
Good question. A friend, perhaps. 😉
Thanks! It’s still a bit early on to be thinking about marriage but I genuinely believe that she’s the One! Good luck with your friend too! 🙂
so much fun to read and yet so true, we all need a bit more courage
