The woman with inky hair stood before a great puddle in the road, gazing at her new white slippers, and scratching her head. From a nearby window a hatted boy saw her.
He crept behind her and picked her up in his arms and carried her through the great depths…
(Based on an amorous dream I had last night.)

I write as a way of life: stories, blogs, articles, almost-poems. I'm a freelancer, a vegetarian, and I listen to Leonard Cohen and enjoy French films. We are dying a little more with each new day we live, so shouldn't we make the most of our time?

I want more now! No fair. Write 50 more words!
I’ll think about it. 🙂
Ok, I hope this is to be continued… go back to sleep and dream up another 50 words please!
Okay. I will go to sleep right now…
If it was amorous, there must be more to it. I do hope he ravished her after the sweetness of his chivalry.
Oh my!
Wink, wink.
And what happened next?
May those dreams come true…
As much as I am tempted to say it, I won’t ask for more. I kindda enjoy the short pieces. Besides, what’s to say I’d be satisfied after 5,000,000 more words!
Enjoyable story, hatted writer. And good idea writing yourself into the story -hatted boy.
I’ve done that before, writting myself into stories… When the heroine is marvelous!
Awww, dang, I’ve missed the inky haired woman stories. You’re keeping us all on the edge. 🙂
you cannot leave your readers hanging..or was that the plan? 😉
Of course I can! 😉
I like your thinking 🙂
As always, more story in 50 words than many write in 10 times that. Love the ending since we each get to finish the story with out imaginations in a way that suits us best. Nice work, my hatted friend.
make that “our imaginations”, bad fingers!!!! 😦
Kip is the best!
*Tosses hat into the air, and hats land back on the head.*
Nice trick 🙂 I tried that once or two hundred times and it never worked out quite right.
