The gentleman went for a walk in the park. He found two empty benches facing each other, and for a moment he hesitated, not knowing which to pick. He eventually chose the one next to the oak.
The moment he sat down a pigeon pooped on his shoulder.
He sighed.

I write as a way of life: stories, blogs, articles, almost-poems. I'm a freelancer, a vegetarian, and I listen to Leonard Cohen and enjoy French films. We are dying a little more with each new day we live, so shouldn't we make the most of our time?

pigeon poop is said t o be good luck in some places…
Yes, it’s true here.
Ha! hate those typical moments!
I wear a hat when I go out, so I feel quite safe. 🙂
I like hats, they do offer a certain security for the head & hair. Unless you have long hair, then the bottom half isn’t so safe, maybe a hat with a cape attached could be invented……
Or you can wear a space helmet. Looks really good on a woman’s head.
Really! should work nicely as a xmas gift for my sisters! Thanks for the tip!
Hey, better on the shoulder than on the head. A funny ending!
I think it’s usually on the shoulder…
Usually…
I think it is a two out of three chance that it’ll be a shoulder.
Well said!
Haha! Now that’s a great one! And I’m saying this even though I got such present on my head last summer…
On my freshly cleaned hair..!
Really?
It never happened to me. But I don’t go out much…
Poor Julita!
(The conclusion is that you did not wear a hat that day.)
And I hope it doesn’t happen to you!
I didn’t wear a hat…
and I learned my lesson! 😉
I’m glad he wasn’t looking up when it happened, because that’s exactly what happened to me one day…
Wow!
The outcome?
Love this one. Made me laugh out loud
Trap your laugh in an envelope and send the envelope to me. I shall open it and my quiet room will fill with laughter.
You just described my life the past few weeks.
Keep your chin up!
it happened to me last summer, in my hair and down onto my shoulder, on my nice new sweatshirt. i didn´t sigh though, i laughed. at last it happened, i didn´t have to wonder when or where anymore. i never heard of it happening to anyone twice, so i feel very safe around pigeons.
Oh cruel world! 🙂
Perfect post for a Monday! Stuff happens… we might as well laugh about it.
A seagull got me once.
Blessings ~ Wendy
By sitting next to the oak he handed the advantage to the bird!
