Two weeks after her divorce, Viola called her husband Laurent from a friend’s phone. ‘Yes?’ he answered. In the background Viola heard loud music and young women giggle. She hung the phone and wept. Putting down his receiver, Laurent stopped the audio recording, and his empty bathroom became again silent.
