Next time you find yourself before a wall of books in a bookshop or library choose one of the titles on this list. You won’t regret it.
I have read all of these books and I dare say they have made me a better person. Weaving beautiful narratives with life-affirming truths, these titles distill the essence of life into illuminating pages.

Have you read any of these books? And what book special to you would you add to this list?
With some of these recommendations, you’re going with the heavy lumber.
“One Hundred Years of Solitude” has been on my radar for years already but now you’ve finally motivated me to ask my dad for his old copy 🙂 also happy to find two German authors on this list!
A post that offers something that will change the way I think and live is definitely worth reading – and I’ve come away with a few more reading recommendations, thanks 🙂
How to win friends and influence people? That book was so archaic I only read about 30 pages. It was awfully boring in my opinion, because I was expecting a revealing of the Machiavellian arts, showing me how to use cunning, influential tactics to take down people I don’t like. Instead it was old anecdotes that left a dreary feeling in my mind, so instead I read books like FU Money by Dan “The Man” Lok to learn how to get what I want in life.
