The great library was burning. With a look of agony of his face, the librarian stared at the endless bookcase, seeing books on Religion, Philosophy, Mathematics, History, Geography, Art, Literature, Chemistry... He could not carry out more than three or four. ‘Which books should I save?’ he asked himself.

During his nightly wanderings through the city, a young gypsy boy found a lost purse, heavy with silver coins. The following day he returned it intact to the woman who had lost it. She offered him silvers, but he refused. ‘Do you want something else?’ she asked. ‘A kiss.’

Emily baked a cake for Annie, and it took her three hours. When she wanted to put the cake in the pantry, she tripped over the cat, and the cake licked the floor. After a moment of hesitation, Emily put the cake back on the plate, as if nothing had happened.
